This historic family home and exclusive venue has been cherished by the Foster family since 1869. Just six miles from Whitby, it offers a private & romantic setting for unique weddings and celebrations. Surrounded by 6,000 acres of quintessential English countryside, Egton Manor seamlessly combines the natural beauty of its surroundings with the sophistication of its historic estate.
From an intimate ceremony in the Manor to canapés & welcome drinks in the gardens, every part of the estate provides a distinctive and unforgettable setting for your special day.
Weddings at Egton Manor
The venue can accommodate up to 160 people and has numerous areas which can be enjoyed on a wedding day.
The Old Stables combines several spaces with an effortless flow. The Long Gallery, bar, reception room & raj tent all offer light & airy spaces which can be styled as you wish.
A second Raj tent can be found sitting proudly within the extensive lawns overlooking the beautiful grounds & English countryside views. This space is tastefully styled & is complete with comfortable furniture which your guests can enjoy as they relax with a drink. The Raj tent can seat 28 people & really is the most idyllic setting for those post ceremony drinks.
Indoor Ceremonies at Egton Manor
Egton Manor offers two elegant indoor venues for your ceremony. The Manor Garden Hall, with its intimate charm, comfortably seats up to 40 guests, while the Drawing Room, complete with a grand piano, can host 60 seated guests. By combining both spaces, you can ensure a smooth flow from the ceremony to a champagne reception. These timeless spaces exude historic charm and sophistication, making them the perfect setting for your special day.
For larger weddings the Covered Courtyard can accommodate up to 160 guests and leads directly onto the riverside gardens. This area has a welcoming, cosy & rustic feel which beautifully harmonises both the outdoor & indoor space together. This space can be hired alongside the Old Stables & Raj tent to create a unique & seamless set up for you & your guests to enjoy.
Outdoor Ceremonies at Egton Manor
My favourite space for ceremonies at Egton Manor has to be the terrace, sitting elegantly in front of the manor house. With its stunning backdrop and elevated countryside views, it’s a dream location for any wedding photographer. On a beautiful summer’s day, it’s perfect for capturing breathtaking wedding photographs. The bride’s arrival, walking through the gardens and ascending the steps, is truly a sight to behold.

At Egton, couples are provided with a dedicated venue coordinator who will look after throughout your wedding planning journey. They will be in touch 8 weeks prior to your wedding day to bring your vision to life and are available should you need them at any time.
