WILDWOOD & EDEN – TIPI WEDDING VENUE, SCARBOROUGH

Wildwood & Eden is a barn & tipi wedding venue based on the outskirts of Scarborough, North Yorkshire. This is a laid back and relaxed venue which offers up all the luxuries and logistical benefits of an established venue with the creative freedom and informal ambience of a DIY wedding. In other words, you get the best of both worlds! If you’re looking for a venue with relaxed vibes that you can truly make it your own, then Wildwood & Eden is definitely worth checking out.

An overview of Wildwood & Eden – Tipi Wedding Venue

Located on the edge of the coastal town Scarborough, North Yorkshire, Wild wood & Eden was a farm before it was converted into a popular wedding venue. The set up is a unique barn building and two connecting giant hat tipis . It also has an ‘indoor-outdoor’ bar (formerly the farms stables) and lots of fantastic outdoor space. The rural setting means amazing views in every direction so photographs are spoilt for choice!

It’s location makes travel from York, Hull, Scarborough, Malton & Whitby easy and the rail links from Scarborough & York make it easily accessible from Edinburgh & London.

Couples are given exclusive use of the venue meaning the wedding party can enjoy the grounds with total privacy. For me, this is the perfect venue for summer weddings. There’s plenty of outdoor space for garden games and lots of outdoor seating for guests to enjoy.

The Weddings I’ve shot here have all had an amazing atmosphere which is definitely down to the feel of the place. The relaxed and laid back nature evokes a perfect ambience for wedding celebrations and generates quite the party for the evening do!

The Barn at Wildwood & Eden

Ceremonies at Wildwood & Eden take place in a charming and rustic barn which offers a unique and intimate setting. The barn’s exterior is a rural stone structure and the interior has a warm and welcoming feel to it. It’s a fantastic looking space as is but looks incredible when decorated with any floral or foliage arrangements.

For me the barn compliments the tipi perfectly and visa versa. The rustic feels are present everywhere at this venue and any styling or theme can be continued seamlessly between all the different areas and spaces.

The inside space is set across two levels with the couple standing in the centre framed by a rustic bridal arch. Wedding guests are seated over the two levels at either side of the mezzanine where the vows take place. This arrangements creates a unique and quite special atmosphere as the couple is quite literally surrounded by their nearest and dearest. The setup of the space also makes the bride and grooms exit unique as well. Rather then walking down the aisle the couple descend the stairs and through their guests which is always a great moment.

The Tipis at Wildwood & Eden

Positioned proudly at the centre of the venue the two giant tipis provide the perfect space for the wedding breakfast, speeches and evening do. The tipis comfortably accommodate 136 seated guests with ample space for entertainment and dancing. Inside are wooden bench tables with individual wooden chairs and a giant fire pit at the centre for chilly evenings.

There’s something unique about the atmosphere that tipis generate and the Wildwood & Eden’s tipis are no exception. The energy is always fantastic from the wedding breakfast, throughout the speeches and into the night. In fact I always find that wedding night dos in tipis are always particularly lively.

Whether decorated with candles, fairy lights, pom-poms, chandeliers, bunting or floral installations the tipis always looks great. One thing I personally love about this venue and tipis in general is that you can truly personalise them. They look fantastic however they are styled and are so versatile. For couples looking to really reflect themselves in their wedding venue, this is a great option.

The weddings I have covered at Wildwood & Eden have all been packed with a fun and energy which is visible in the photos. People having a great time make the best photos and that’s what you get at Wildwood & Eden. As well as this the rural farmland location is an amazing backdrop for couples portraits so it really is a win for photographers. I have always found it a pleasure to capture weddings here & am super excited to receive enquiries for this venue.
